CHOBHAM’S BIGGEST AND BEST COMMUNITY EVENTS OF THE YEAR

The dates are set!

THIS year’s Chobham Carnival will be on Monday, 5 May, with the May Ball on Saturday 3 May. Arrangements for the events are already well advanced and the organising committee is meeting regularly to make sure they both live up to their reputations. The theme for the 2025 carnival parade is Space, as suggested by the winner of last year’s programme illustration competition, Jack, aged 10, who goes to St Lawrence Primary School. This year’s main arena attraction is Camel Racing, a spectacle that was much enjoyed when it featured at the carnival in 2012. And the superb band Pink Fish will again be providing the entertainment for the ball. There is a myriad of options for creating some impressive procession entries, from depictions of the planets and the Universe to Buzz Lightyear and the International Space Station. And, of course, there are bound to be aliens and UFOs in the big parade. So get planning now, to help create yet another impressive procession. As well as the camel racing, the carnival fete is again planned to feature displays by Prime Acrobatics and SV Elite Dance Studio, performances by the Rock Choir and Chobham Morris and a traditional Punch and Judy show. Plus, there will a full-scale fun fair, dozens of stalls and sideshows and a great selection of food and drink.
